"As adults we often carry childhood burdens into adulthood and also the experiences of early adulthood can impact on adult coping strategies. Relationship problems stem from our life experiences and our personalities as adults may well reflect both positive and negative elements of our childhood that can both help with resilience and, when missing, hinder coping. By using a behavioural perspective and person centred approach we work through sessions to help you.
There may be issues at work or within your professional role that could benefit from behavioural therapy.
Stresscomes in many forms with many triggers and the approach I take is about looking at all of the pieces of the jigsaw and working with you to try and develop an understanding of yourself, triggers, your environment, your responses to certain situations and your ability to cope. This works with both young people and adults. The task between us both is to gain trust, a broader understanding of your issues and then develop coping strategies.
Marriage and parenting can also be quite a battlefield when our own childhoods have unresolved isues, therefore it is never too late to talk. Coping with our own behaviour and our children's is a huge task. I work with family members and household staff in extended behavioural therapy with children who may displaying behaviour issues. We look at strategies designed for indiviual situation. Nannies spend a large time with children and they benefit from attending sessions.
